When you don’t know why something is happening around you in the workplace, instead of reacting to what you don’t understand, why not respond by what you know is right… from God’s perspective. He tells us…
- Be Alert to Pray- immediately call for help and declare our dependence on God (Ephesians 6:18-19)
- We should pray for our enemies and not allow ourselves to react and be overcome by their evil, but instead overcome it with good! (Romans 12:21)
- We should look for ways to love those who don’t love or like you. (Matt.5:43-44)
- We should be slow to speak and quick to listen in situations, because it is easy for our tongue to quickly say the wrong things. (James 1:19)
- When everyone is looking out only for themselves, we are told to look out not only for our own interest but also for the interest of others. (Philippians 2:3-4)
- When we have opportunity we should be willing to do more then what is expected of us by going the extra mile. (Matthew 5:41)
- Knowing the truth is one thing, but speaking the truth in a kind and loving way is very important in difficult situations. (Ephesians 4:15)
- Forgive as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13). Forgiveness characterizes us as Christians. It should influence our responses toward difficult people, because we can be tempted not to forgive them.
