God's Redemptive Values for Work
God’s foundational values for our work life are based on His character and should be mirrored through our work life. In my last post we first looked at God’s Kingdom values…
Now to, God’s Redemptive Values for our work life. These values should be a reflection of God’s redemptive heart. As Redeemer, God paid the ultimate price through Christ. He provided forgiveness and delivered us from the slavery of sin. He changed our position by taking us out of darkness and transferring us into His kingdom of light (Colossians 1:13-14). Though we cannot redeem a person soul (only God can, Psalm 49:7), we can reflect God’s redemption to people. How?
- God went to great measures to show us patience, mercy, kindness, offer forgiveness, and then made the ultimate sacrifice for us. Being mindful of God’s concern for us should compel us to be ready to show God’s redemptive attitudes to the people around us. (Matthew 5:44-46).
- Because each day has its own evils (Matthew 6:34), such as difficult people and situations… they need our involvement, not our silence or criticism. We are told to look at these as opportunities that can be redeemed, literally “to buy back from going bankrupt or lost” (Ephesians 5:15-17).
- People who are trapped in darkness need to see the light. Our Godly conduct and conversations (Colossians 4:5-6) can bring light to them. Each interaction, little or big, can be a reflection of how God seeks to redeem what is lost. (Luke 19:10)
